Volunteering is the Heart of Giving!
The Golden Rule Foundation's important work wouldn't be possible without volunteers. To succeed, we need you!
Types of Volunteers: Foundation Volunteers Classroom Volunteers Internships
We're a small non-profit organization with a big mission - to promote strong character in children through volunteerism and community involvement. And we are committed to ensuring that most of the money we raise pays for projects that involve kids helping their communities, not staff salaries.
Giving us a small amount of your time is a big deal.
Volunteer, and you can use your professional expertise for a good cause. Get involved, and you can set a positive example for children. Participate, and you can use your talents to actually change conditions in your community.
Foundation VolunteersThe foundation has the following ongoing volunteer work:
- Clerical work (data-entry, envelope stuffing)
- Grant writing
- Event planning
- Fund-raising
- Executive Director "Shadow" Program
If you are a volunteer with expertise and interest in these areas, please fill out our volunteer interest form now and e-mail it to us! We'll let you know how and when you can help!
Classroom Volunteers
If your heart is where the kids are, there's work for you, too. Each community service project that we sponsor needs volunteer project helpers and chaperones.
To work with children, you must attend a two-hour training session and observe an actual school project with a foundation staff member or experienced volunteer. You must also submit to a background check. The Golden Rule Foundation will guide you through this quick and simply process.
To become a class-project volunteer, please fill out our volunteer interest form now and support the Golden Rule Foundation!
InternshipsThe Golden Rule Foundation has available internship opportunities for students majoring in, or with an interest in accounting/finance, marketing, general business, non-profit management, event planning, social work, and education. We offer flexible scheduling and work hard to fulfill the requirements of college internship programs. Interning with the Golden Rule Foundation is a great way to gain valuable career experience and positively affect the lives of children at the same time! Interested students should send a current resume and a paragraph about their skills, experience, and interests via fax to (407) 647-1847 or as a Word attachment via e-mail to hvales@dountoothers.net.
